University of Oklahoma
In 1969, graduate instruction and research in the field of computer science began at OU and in 1976 OU added its undergraduate computer science program which became part of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Today, Computer Science at OU has a much fresher look with 15 full-time faculty members and as of the Spring 2010 semester a new state-of-the-art home in Devon Energy Hall. This five-story, 103,000-square-foot building featuring classrooms, team rooms, teaching labs and flexible research space allows the College to continue to implement its curriculum with an emphasis on student leadership and teamwork.
OU offers BS degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. Undergraduates’ curriculum consists of eleven courses in mathematics, chemistry, physics, and three electives chosen from computer science courses. Students will also have the opportunity to complete a major design project as part of two courses in software engineering during their senior year. Oklahoma State University
Led by an exceptional faculty, the Computer Science Department at OSU offers students a wide variety of study areas, including five different degree programs on two campuses-one in Stillwater, as well as Tulsa. Students may choose to study Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Electronics Technology with Computer Emphasis. Most of the required computer courses require extensive programming using languages such as JAVA, UNIX, C and C++. Oklahoma City University
Oklahoma City University’s, Meinder’s School of Business, is a premier program for international management education. The Meinder’s School of Busiess offers a B.S. degree for Computer Science as well as a degree for Computer Information Systems. The Computer Science degree is designed for students wishing to pursue a graduate degree, and the Computer Information Systems is designed to graduate computer professionals who will seek immediate employment in the business world. Rogers State University
The Department of Applied Technology, located in the School of Business and Technology at Rogers State University is one of the most unique programs in the state of Oklahoma. Although relatively new university, Rogers State is one of the fastest growing institutions in the state and this is due in large part to its three campuses located in Claremore, Bartlesville, and Pryor Creek, Oklahoma.
The Department of Applied Technology offers numerous areas of study including a B.S.
