The Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at KU offers two computer degrees, one in Computer Science and one in Computer Engineering. Kansas State University
Kansas State University’s College of Engineering offers B.S. degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems, and Computer Engineering. The Department of Computing and Information Sciences provides students with a broad background in Computer Science, Information Systems, and Software Engineering. This program is ranked in the “Top Five” in the nation for programming languages and software and program analysis research. The curriculum for students who choose the Computer Science major will focus on either Software Engineering or Computer Science. Students pursuing both tracks will develop essential problem solving and analytical skills that will prepare them for a successful professional career or graduate study.
The Information Systems curriculum will prepare students to use computers and software to solve problems arising in business operations or commerce. Additionally, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers a B.S. in Computer Engineering. Wichita State University
Wichita State University is located in the largest city in the state of Kansas. Because of its location, students at WSU have amazing opportunities to receive a top-of-the-line education and experience in professional fields through internships and research. The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at WSU offers students just that. Students will be able to choose either a Computer Science or Computer Engineering major.
In these incredibly diverse programs, undergraduates will work closely with faculty, studying areas such as computer networking, control systems, energy systems, communications and signal processing, databases, quantum systems, and algorithms. Majors will also be required to complete three of six activities in accordance with the College of Engineering Engineer of 2020 program requirements. Fort Hays State University
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Fort Hays State University combines the two stimulating fields of mathematics and computer programming. Students will learn how the principles of these two fields work together and then apply their understanding to a variety of research topics. Students will utilize the University’s research facilities and labs to address current problems in the fields of mathematics and computer science, write computer programs to solve troubling software engineering issues, and gain invaluable problem solving and analytical skills.

Washburn University
Washburn University is located on a 160-acre campus in the center of Topeka, Kansas. Since 1941, Washburn University has been continuously accredited or approved by the Higher Learning Commission and offers one of the best Computer Science programs in the state. Computer Information Science majors are provided with practically unlimited amounts of research spaces and state-of-the-art labs at WU.
Students have access to the university-wide computer system consisting of a series of RS6000 minicomputers running Unix and Intel-based computers running Windows NT, the X-Terminal and Dell laboratories, the IBM PC-Compatible microcomputer lab, a Networking and Telecommunications experimental computing lab, and also HiPACE supercomputer, or the High Performance Academic Computing Environment.
